This is sure strange. Why would the government classify pages from the 9/11 Report? This is a tax payer funded report after all. The government dragged their feet for a long time before doing any kind of investigation but finally the 9/11 victims family’s were able to pressure the government enough to publish a report. But, alas, some info the American people just do not need to know or so our wise government officials believe. Is the Saudi Government involved? This is the rumor in D.C. If true, this would be a news item groundbreaking significance and probably the most important revelation to occur during my life.
When I watched Republican debate’s it is pretty much one big yawn for me. Nothing really new is said ever during these pointless charades. Each candidate says many general slogans without saying anything of substance. They all talk about restoring “America’s greatness”, which apparently means defending Israel’s interests in the Middle East, ever expanding the police state, and giving more help to veterans. yawn. What departments will these supposed conservatives shut down? God forbid anyone even mentions the insane inflationary policies of the Federal Reserve. What about ending the drug war and illegal spying on Americans? Ending the IRS? What about following the Constitution in any way? How about restoring sound money? Nope, I guess we have to be tougher on Iran and Russia! God forbid any of these characters read George Washington’s farewell address.
Tom Woods talks about secession. When many people hear this they think of the Civil War or racism. This is too bad because secession is probably the most important right that a group of people retains. This is supposedly a ideal in the West, the right of people to have self determination. After World War I, Woodrow Wilson argued that all peoples have the right to rule themselves and choose their own destiny. Wilson might have not been sincere (he is a politician after all) but the whole Western world had to concede to Wilson’s moral stance. Self Determination is not just some slogan, it actually means something. Here in the United States, what used to be called “these United States”, the idea of one nation under rule of Washington DC is a more recent development. During the peace with King George after the Revolutionary War, each colony signed their own peace treaty with Britain because each was considered a sovereign country. It also generally assumed until the Civil War (or more accurately, “the war between the states”) that the union was voluntary. Lincoln’s acts of aggression against the South was a war of conquest and was illegal. We need to reevaluate this ancient tradition of secession and self determination. Smaller political units are much more responsive to the will of the people and are much better at protecting the rights of the individual. I hope for a future where each state is truly free to decide their own destiny, it is what we desperately need more than ever.
If you are not aware of Doug Casey he has an interesting perspective on libertarianism and investing. I have been reading and listening to him again recently and I thought it would be a good idea to post some of his stuff for anyone who has not heard of him.
Doug Casey believes that people, especially those interested in liberty, should not only diversify their assets into different economic sectors but also different political sectors as well. For example, a person with property in one country, a business in an other country, and a bank account in a different country will not be exposed to just one political risk. As the economic situation in the West continues to get worse, governments will look for new ways to expropriate wealth from their citizenry. American citizenship, which has been greatly valued for the last hundred years or more, might become a liability. Doug Casey says that we are in the eye of the economic storm that hit in 2008. When we reach the other side, the greatest economic crisis in modern history will begin. The videos below are a good introduction to Doug Casey’s views.
As governments drive their respective countries into ruin we are going to see more and more pushes for Independence around the world. Even thought Scotland’s secession referendum failed, it is a great to see this push for liberty. I believe that Scotland will be independent in the not too distant future.
Truly, what an amazing picture. All the living secretaries of state taking out the first shovels for the “United States Diplomacy Center” (talk about George Orwell Double Speak) at its finest. All of them in one picture really brings to mind what a bunch of criminal psychopaths have been running U.S. foreign policy. I am not exaggerating, I am talking about criminal psychopaths. Here Madeleine Albright claims that the deaths of 500,000 children in a Iraq were worth it. Here was John Kerry anti war activist and now slave to Government-Industrial War Machine. Colin Powell’s famous speech to the U.N. where he pointed out WMD sites was a complete lie. Colin Powell at the time had overwhelming credibility among the American people which the Bush Administration used to drag us into disaster. Henry Kissinger is a war criminal and a lap dog for Rockefeller globalists. Need I mention Hillary?
